For most of my adult life I’ve had one pair of sneakers at a time and they were solely for exercise. Back in the 90’s we wore Keds, Reebok, Nike and Tretorn. Now sneakers are a fashion staple, and I’ve hopped on board. I want to share 5 sneakers I love. There’s no shortage out there, and with so many choices it’s nice to have some options vetted.
Saucony Running Shoes
Best suited for running/walking
I’ve been wearing Saucony sneakers for exercise exclusively for about 15 years. It started when I had plantar fasciitis and had to wear sneakers all.the.time for months. Since this was before I ever wore sneakers for fashion, it was really hard for me. I visited a running store to get fitted for a good sneaker at the encouragement of my podiatrist to help with PF. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good walking/running/exercise shoe. I shared a post years ago about this you can read here.

New Balance 327
Best suited for daily wear/fashion
These were my first fashion sneakers about two years ago. I was seeing them everywhere, and on a lot of fashion influencers I was following. I think that’s part of what goes on now with fashion and influencers. When you see something being worn enough times, you are finally “influenced” to try them yourself. That’s exactly what happened to me, and I fell in love with them. I have two pairs and there are several others I’d like but I’m trying to keep myself in check.
OnCloud
best suited for gym/fashion
These are another brand that are just absolutely everywhere. I got a pair earlier this year and love them. They have a nice cushion making them comfortable, and they are also cute and sporty looking. A lot of health care providers (including Katie) wear them with scrubs daily, so I feel like that alone is a good testimony.

Dolce Vita
best suited for casual wear
These are my most recent sneakers and they’re so cute and versatile. They’re available in different color ways so you can have fun with that. They have a nice cushioned insole that’s very comfy and the leather is also very soft and comfy around your foot, particularly at the ankle. These are cute with jeans, jogger, leggings and even dresses.
VanEli
best suited for casual wear
I have two pairs of sneakers form VanEli that I got last year. One is a white leather with a fun design on the side, and the other is basically the same sneaker in black suede. They’re comfortable and fun to wear more for fashion than function.
You can use code COAST10 on these or any shoes on the Marmi site.

BONUS SNEAKERS to go with 5 sneakers I love
Here are some other sneakers that seem to be popular among women our age as well.
Are you a fan of sneakers for fashion or are you more of a sneakers for function person? I’m really glad that they’ve come into the fashion realm because there are times you really need your feet to be comfortable, but still want to look fashionable.
I hope you’ll follow along on Instagram. I share on there daily and you can see more of my daily life in stories. You can also me on Facebook and Pinterest, and I’d love for you to sign up to receive my newsletters that come out whenever there’s a new blog post. Just scroll to the bottom and put your email in.

Cute sneakers! I have a hard time wearing with dresses- I guess my old school self just can’t do it. I’m more of a sneakers for function gal. I do wear them more since I work from home since 2020 so thanks for the cute options.
I know what you mean Sharon. It’s a bit of a stretch for me too. I think it looks really cute sometimes. Have a great week!

Love these recommendations but the link for the Dolce Vita wouldn’t work for me.
I have a pair of ON Clouds that are white and YES, def. more fashion than function if you get a color like I did. I’d love to get a color that isn’t so white for my next pair of love the color of the pair you’ve shared in this post!!
