Sweet Smocked Sundress

Hi friends! It’s August 1st. In some ways I’m ready for this month, and in others I’m not. Katie graduates this Friday after 27 loooong months of Physician Assistant school. I’m so excited and proud for her, but I’m in no way ready for summer to start winding down. We do still have some time left, and it’s going to continue being hot for at leas 6 weeks, so this sweet smocked sundress from Cabana Life will come in handy. You can use my code COASTTOCOAST15 for 15% off the entire Cabana Life website.

This dress reminds me of the kind of dress I learned to make in a sewing class many moons ago. Does that ring a bell with you? They sell bolts of fabric that are smocked at the top and then fabric at the bottom. All you had to do was seam up the sides, add straps and hem it, then Voilá you had a dress.

You know I love all things eyelet, and that’s another thing that reminds me of my younger days. When I was a little girl, my mom loved eyelet, but I didn’t. Funny how things change. This little dress is fully lined with a UPF 50 fabric, so no slip needed. The straps can be adjusted just by untying them, and of course it’s nice and cool on these hot summer days.

You could also easily use this dress as a swimsuit cover up. Just throw it on and then you can go straight from the pool to lunch, dinner or running errands. Don’t forget about the discount code for 15% off your purchase. COASTTOCOAST15.
