Hi friends! Happy Friday! We are one week…ONE WEEK…away from Memorial Day, which marks the official start of summer and vacations. If you know anything about me, you know my favorite place to be is the beach. So let’s explore what’s in my beach bag. This was the topic of our Chit Chat Chic Live Wednesday night.
If you happen to be new here, on Wednesdays my Chit Chat Chic friends and I have a LIVE on Instagram. We talk about all kinds of topics and it’s interactive. We love hearing from our viewers, and that means YOU. So feel free to join us at 7 CST on Wednesday nights and join the conversation. (Commercial over…HAHAHA!)
SUNSCREEN – I currently have 3 favorite face sunscreens that I use regularly. Colleen Rothschild (use code COASTTOCOAST20 for 20% off) , Tula Mineral Sunscreen (use code COASTTOCOAST for 15% off) and City Beauty Daily Veil (use code LISAR for 15% off). I wear the City Beauty under my makeup and the other two when I’m going to be outside. I also like Elta MD, but I left it in CA. Of course I also use a lip product with SPF too.
For our bodies, we like spray sunscreen. I try to buy it when I find it on sale and stock up, but we do like Neutrogena.
I like an insulated tumbler that will keep my drink cold all day. I mix 2/3 water, 1/3 Crystal Light Mango Peach Mango Green Tea and 1/3 pack of Liquid IV. (Use code COASTTOCOAST2 for 25% off) My favorite tumbler is a 32 oz Swig. They have a rubber bottom, so they don’t get scratched up or scratch other surfaces.
I always, always, always wear a hat when I’m out in the sun. At the pool I wear a wider rim and when I’m walking I wear a baseball hat. I like it when my hats also have built in UPF, which both of these straw ones do.
Of course you have to have beach towels, and plenty of them. These from Kohl’s are nice and thick, but you can also find really nice ones at TJMaxx, Marshall’s and Home Goods. If you are looking for something a little higher end, Pottery Barn has beautiful towels.
And finally, accessories. Yes, I wear earrings to the pool. I always have. These rattan ball hoops make a great option and statement, and since they are so reasonably priced, you don’t have to worry about ruining them.
And lastly, a pair of flip flops or pool shoes of some kind. I’m thinking I’d like to add a pair of fun colored jelly sandals like these or these to my beach look. These Reef flip flops are my favorites. I’ve had 3 pairs in the last 10 years. They last really well. I think I’ll try Havaianas this year.
Do you have something in your beach bag that I don’t? Tell me in the comments.
