Kimono and Denim Shorts for Summer

Hey friends! Oh my goodness…someone stop the clock please. This week is going bay way to quick for my liking. Katie is here, and I’m not going to be ready to let her go back on Saturday. I guess there’s no way to really do that, so in the meantime, let’s look at this kimono and denim shorts for summer. Everyone seems to love this look, and I’m getting on board.

Denim shorts are a summer staple for most women. I’ve always loved the look of them, but not really the way they look on me. Enter this pair from Chico’s. They have a nice vintage look, the length is great, and the raw hem makes them look current. These denim shorts are also retro in that the fabric is 100% cotton. What does that mean? Well they don’t have stretch in them like most denim shorts. Having said that, they do stretch out some…and thank goodness. I think they run a little small. When I first got them I could barely get them on. Once they stretched out, they felt much better. So you might think about sizing up if you want a looser feel.

Kimonos! They have been hot on the scene for at least 4 years. They are a great light layer for summer and go with almost everything. They look cute with denim shorts, jeans, white jeans, t-shirt dresses, and as bathing suit covers. There’s no shortage on styles and colors either. There’s something for everyone. This one is from…you guessed it, Chico’s. It has pockets and a little elastic in the back that makes it flattering.

I can’t wait to style this with white jeans and with a little black t-shirt dress. I think it will look really cute with both of those.

I really like the length of those shorts! I wouldn’t mind adding one longer pair to my closet. I only have one black pair of bermuda shorts and they are low rise so not my favorite. Love everything about your outfit.
