Pre-Vacation Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! This is a great Friday for me. Want to know why? Tomorrow we leave for vacation!!!!! Hence the title of Pre-Vacation Friday Favorites. The whole gang is coming with us this time. We’ve had Benny, Erin & Katie before, and then we’ve had Katie and Luke, but we’ve never had all 4.! Now, if we can just get the weather to cooperate. Everyone cross your fingers. Puh-leese! Oh and I may or may not post next week. We’ll just have to see what happens.

I seem to be rough on computer cases. The last one I had I continued to use even though it was cracked for some time. Well I finally broke down and bought a new one. I love it. It’s a soft touch, hard shell case and it’s only $11. What a deal. I can also use it as a backdrop for small scale photographs in a pinch. Winner-winner!

One of my favorite flowers is hydrangea. In the past I’ve cut them and they don’t last very long. I read on another bloggers blog, advice on how to cut them, and keep them longer. Man-o-man did it work. These lasted almost 2 weeks. Can you even?

Okay, this picture is serving as two favorites. First let’s talk about the Sylvia Joy box I’m holding. It came with some great, adhesive inserts for heels. If your feet are tired at the end of the day, or the beginning, then these might be the answer. Use code SJ_Coasttocoast2 for 40% off.

Now look at my eyes. There are two things I want you to notice. My “eyeshadow” and my lashes.

I ordered this blush a few months ago when I got this highlighter. I go through periods of time when I use eyeshadow, but a lot of the time I just use my blush. That’s what I’ve been doing here of late, using my blush as my eyeshadow. I was at the dentist yesterday and when she sat down she said, “I really like your eyeshadow”. I told her it was actually my blush and she loved the idea. Trust me, it works like a charm.

Lash Boost, Coast to Coast

I try not to beat y’all over the head with Rodan + Fields, but from time to time I just have to share. Y’all, I never had any kind of lashes at all, but I always wanted them. I’d look at women who had beautiful lashes with such envy. Well no more. Since I started using Lash Boost 2 1/2 years ago, I am now in love with my own lashes. It’s mind boggling how awesome this stuff is. If you are lacking in the lash department like I was, let me know and I will happily set you up with your own Lash Boost. A tube lasts 4 months. You’ll notice a little difference at 4 weeks, more at 8 and a noticeable improvement by 12 weeks. Kent has been totally amazed by my lashes. Totally!

Don’t leave without subscribing to receive posts by email. Just scroll back up to the top and fill in the box on the left above my picture. You won’t get spammed, just an email anytime a new post is published, so you never miss out. I’d also love it if you’d follow me on InstagramFacebookPinterest and Twitter. The more followers I have, the more exposure I get means more opportunity for growth and sharing things you’d be interested. It’s a win-win. Time for me to hit the Nordstrom website friends. Stay tuned!!!!

Well dang it all, I did see her post and realized that was for cut hydrangeas not the bush I have in a pot on my porch. That currently needs to be rescued!!

We have 11 hydrangea plants and four of them got damaged by the storm the other night. I love that color! I have never tried the Milani make up products but heard so many great things about them, I want too, I want too. Eek, I’m so excited for you girl! You deserve a fabulous vacation with your amazing family! XOXO

    • July 12, 2019 / 8:00 am

Oh no! Hopefully they’ll come back even stronger. I’d love to have a yard with an entire back or side border of them. The Milani products are really good. Happy weekend.

  6. July 12, 2019 / 7:38 am

What a great idea to use your blush as eyeshadow, Lisa. I have used a lipstick/stain that didn’t stay on well on my lips as blush, so I will have to try this.
    Have fun on vaca!!

Works like a charm Jodie. I’ve been using my bronzer palette as the same thing for years too.

  10. July 13, 2019 / 8:47 am

I do that too sometimes.. use blush as eye shadow, sometimes in conjunction with another color in the crease. Have a great vacation

We’ve been watching the Weather Channel all morning and I told Wayne that you guys are headed to Gulf Shores. As of a few hours ago, it looked like you guys may be okay. I hope it stays that way! Have fun!

    • July 14, 2019 / 3:57 pm

Thanks girl! Most of today has been pretty good. It rained for a bit late afternoon, but we’d been out for quite a while, so that was ok.

  12. July 13, 2019 / 8:32 pm

Your hydrangeas are magnificent. My grandmother had pale purpley blue blooms on her bushes. Wishing you safe travels and lots of memory making experiences on vacay with the fam.

Blush as eyeshadow?? Is this something you just do or is this a thing I haven’t heard about? I am tempted to try it! We have a limelight hydrangea and it has green/yellow blooms and I am going to read that post, because I agree they don’t last long! I just saw your IG Stories, I hope that darn tropical storm (I think it is a tropical storm now) moves out ASAP for you.

    • July 14, 2019 / 3:57 pm

It’s just something “EYE” do…lol. Yes, hoping we don’t get too much of the storm. It looks like you are having a wonderful time in HI!!!

  14. July 14, 2019 / 8:03 am

Ooh, using your marble computer case as a photo background is GENIUS! We only have two annuals, and one of them is a hydrangea! Ours is a purply-blue-pink, so I love seeing when people have ones in other colors, like that gorgeous magenta you’ve got! And YAY for vacation!! Hope you guys have the best time! xoxo

  15. July 14, 2019 / 9:52 am

Your hydrangea’s are beautiful! I’ll have to check out that post on how to make them last longer! Hope you have a wonderful family vacation and fingers crossed the weather cooperates!

Have a great time on vacation! I’ll have to remember the hydrangea tips, too.

  18. July 15, 2019 / 11:02 am

I hope you have the BEST vacation! I always use my blush as eyeshadow haha I’m the WORST girl ever because my makeup is so simple lol

    • July 23, 2019 / 9:34 pm

Simple is great. I try to keep it as minimal as I can too…the older I get, the more spackle . LOL

    • July 23, 2019 / 9:28 pm

Thanks Jessica. It’s really good and especially for the price.
