Friday Favorites #142

TGIF! I’m super excited it’s Friday because tomorrow is Saturday which means, Katie comes home. You know that makes for one happy mama!

We’re also a week into daylight savings time. I know a lot of people have trouble adjusting, but I love, love, love having extra light at the end of the day. I just feel better and more productive.

Coast to Coast Friday Favorites

So I ran into Target on my way home yesterday for two things. That’s right TWO…this pretty much sums up how it turned out…

Is there anything better than going into Target and the clearance ends are overflowing? Pretty much, NO. As in NO there isn’t anything better. HA! I love it. Yesterday was one of those days and I found some things I of course just had to buy.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really like Target sheets. Katie recently said she could use some new ones, and as luck would have it, I found some on clearance. I also found this nifty thingy for holding a cheesecake pan (or whatever) in an Instant Pot. Did you know you can make cheesecake in an Instant Pot? My BFF told me about one she’d eaten that was the best ever, and she was thinking about getting an Ins. Pot just to make that. Pinterest has a ton of cheesecake recipes, but here’s the one I think I’ll try.

BRUSH DRYER || SIMILAR WEDGES

I made two favorite purchases this week. First, I did it! I bought the Revlon Volumizer. You’ve probably seen someone in blogland or on Instagram talking about it, and I could no longer resist. I’m all about anything that will help me style this head full of hair. I’ve used it twice so far, and I’m giving it two thumbs up. I dried my hair a little over halfway with my regular dryer and then finished with this. It’s much easier than managing a round brush and dryer at the same time. If you’re tempted like I was, pull the trigger now while you can get 20% off Ulta. That’s what pushed me over the edge. Use the code: 774601 But do it now, the code is only good through tomorrow.

Second, I “ran in” (HA!) TJMaxx the other day and found these wedges. I have this pair I bought two years ago by the same maker and have absolutely loved them. They are so comfortable, especially for a “heel”. The funny thing about finding these is, I wanted them last year and never got them and had just been telling a couple of friends?about them. I couldn’t believe it when I was casually cruising the shoes in TJ’s and there they were in my size. #score #grabandrun

I honestly can’t remember the last time I went to bed without taking off my makeup. Seriously, I’m almost not sure I’ve ever done that. Y’all know I love my Rodan + Fields products, but before using any kind of cleansing mask or exfoliator, you need to take off your makeup, otherwise you’re just grinding it into you skin. I picked this up to use first and it’s great! Leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and ready for the next step. If I’m really lazy, I’ll just use this and my eye cream and Lash Boost and call it a day. BONUS: it contains hyaluronic acid which is good for combating dry skin and fine lines and wrinkles.

Did you see my Instagram story yesterday afternoon? It might still be on there depending on when you’re reading this. Katie had a list of things they wanted me to make next week and one of those was homemade coffee chocolate chip ice cream. So easy and soooo delicious. You can find the recipe under the recipes tab or by clicking here. I have this ice cream maker and an extra freezer barrel which makes making ice cream a breeze. The recipe makes two batches and by having the extra barrel and I can do one batch, and then immediately do the next instead of having to wait 24 hours for the one I just used to refreeze. I store the ice cream in these cute containers.

I’m not even sure who I am right now. I have two giveaways going on? What? I went from never having done one to doing two in two weeks. There’s still time to enter both, so please do.

I know you are counting the hours till the kids arrive and I am so excited for you! That ice cream looks so good and I know they’ll love all the other yummy goodies you are cooking up! I’m bummed those wedges didn’t work for me but they sure are pretty. I have a brush/dryer I use sometimes and I agree it is so much easier than dealing with a round brush!
    Happy Friday friend!

Lisa, that target quote made me laugh!! Thank you for that. And I want to run and find those wedges as well! Oh and now I want homemade ice cream. And do you think that Revlon round brush would work for my fine, curly hair?? Oh, and I’m sorry if you’ve already been nominated but I nominated you for the Sunshine Blogger award. 🙂

If you are able to get good results with a round brush and blow dryer, then I think this dryer would work great for you and be so much easier. Hope you have the sweetest week Chrissy!! XOXO

They do have such great earrings. I rarely even look at clothing and accessories at our store though, because the selection is sad. I miss my MN Targets?

Enjoy your sweet daughter and boyfriend this coming week! One of my besties daughter is coming home tomorrow as well, for spring break. She goes to Montana State and is tired of the snow. And they have a home in Mammoth so they are used to the cold and snow. But yea she is kind of over it for right now! Anyway. have a wonderful break with her!

OMG, I had to laugh. My friends and I are always joking that we’ll go into Target for something like band aids and manage to spend $100, LOL. I’m so glad you mentioned the coupon code at ULTA. I’ve been debating about one of those hairdryers too so I ordered. Nice to get the 20% off. So many people have said they really like that want dryer. Can’t wait to try it out.

I bet you’d like it Julie! My husband even commented on my hair. #enoughsaid ?

Oh, boy, this is what I get for catching up late–missing the coupon for the dryer. You’ll have to do a before/after for us, as I haven’t seen anyone use this. I’m so glad your daughter came into town, always a treat!
