Basic Black

Ask most any woman if she owns black pants/jeans and black tops of some kind and you’ll most likely hear “YES”.

I love black, maybe too much. Wait, what am I even saying? No way! But if you ask Katie she’ll say I have too much black. Yesterday we were shopping and I picked up a black dress and she told me I already had too much black.

If you have basic black pieces you can then add lots of other layers to create new and different looks.  Here are two just to give you an idea.

In these two looks I started with my black jeans and a black turtleneck sweater.

For the first outfit I added black booties and a fun poncho. (feel free to admire the vacuum marks in  my carpet #theseareafewofmyfavoritethings)

This outfit is very versatile. You could wear it to work, shopping, girls night, date night or any ol’ night.

Next I changed out the poncho for my favorite jean jacket and cheetah flats. Again, you could wear this look for almost any casual occasion.

If you need outfit inspiration all you have to do is go to Pinterest and type in black outfits and hundreds thousands will come up.

If you love black and want to mix it up you can add color or shades of black?.

The combinations are endless if you have the basics and make travel much easier.

What are your “go to” colors?

Leave them in the comments and your favorite combinations.

Happy Thursday!

Thanks Andrea! It's kinda funny, there was a time when I never wore black, but now I'm drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Happy New Year to you too!!!
